Is he going to apologize to me for saying I just had a stupid dream?

[oratorical]

How did you tell him about your vision?

[In case there's more of a reason than just Han not trusting the Force for him calling it a dream.]

[lothrat]

I told him I was calling about something important. He asked me how important, and I said it was as important as a building falling on your head, because I wanted him to take me seriously, and I said no, I wasn't joking. Then I told him I'd had a vision and he blew me off.

[oratorical]

[...Ah. So that's what happened then.]

Ezra, if I called you to tell you Kanan had been in an accident and followed it up with the mention that it was a vision and hadn't happened yet, how would you feel?

[lothrat]

I'd be glad it hadn't happened yet, because then I could still do something about it!

[oratorical]

You wouldn't have been slightly bothered by being led to believe something had already happened to Kanan?

[lothrat]

[Ezra huffs.]

Well, maybe I would have liked you to tell me it was a vision first, but you know what Han's like! Would he have listened to me if I started off like that?

[oratorical]

I do know what Han's like, yes.

[if there's anyone who knows best how to either rile up or calm down Han Solo, it's Leia.]

And I know he's less likely to get angry if you're upfront with him.

[lothrat]

I got his attention, then I told him what was going on. It's not like I led him on or dragged it out!

[oratorical]

Did you not just say you would have liked to know it was a vision first?

[lothrat]

I'm not him. I would have listened either way.

[oratorical]

[They're just arguing in circles, she knows, because as much as she could say Han did listen, going as far as checking in with her to make sure she was all right, Leia knows Ezra would come back with something else about him calling them bad dreams or something. So instead, she sighs.]

Just apologize, Ezra. Please. You don't need to be his friend, but he is my husband, whether you're fond of him or not. And if you take the higher road, he might apologize after for calling your vision a bad dream.

[lothrat]

[Ezra would have countered with, sure, Han listens to her, but what about anyone else?

But since she cuts through the circle of their argument to get back to the heart of what she wants, that counter-argument doesn't get made. Instead, Ezra goes right back to scowling.]

I'm not apologizing. [He grits that out, even though he knows Leia's not going to like it.] Han can grow up and figure out that not everything's going to get sugarcoated for him, and he should be glad when people try to give him real warnings, even if he doesn't like how they come.

[Sorry, Leia, but this just isn't something you're going to be able to budge him on.]

[oratorical]

It isn't about sugarcoating things, Ezra.

[Or at least, how Leia sees it isn't about the delivery of the message. Han might not have been happy about it, and it might have been why he got pissy about Ezra's vision being a vision, but that part isn't what she's as concerned about.]

There are things you can't say to someone's spouse.

[lothrat]

If it means he might stop being an idiot about your safety, I'll say whatever I think I need to say. Your life is more important than his feelings.

[oratorical]

Han cares more about my safety than I do at times.

[Something she might have gotten better at, yes, but Leia has lost count of how many times Han has pulled her away from something dangerous or accompanied her despite complaints about how dangerous an idea is to ensure she didn't wind up killed or captured.]

[lothrat]

Yeah, well, he was still being an idiot.

[And Ezra's angry, and a teenager, and Leia had been hurt, and he's not going to get over all that in an instant.]

I'm not apologizing, Leia.

[And that's that, because that's where he cuts the amulet connection off.]
